Personal Use

The Archives of the City of Linz can be used during opening hours without appointment as is stipulated in the clause on use ordinance on archiving (§§ 8 to 15).

No charges are incurred for personal use. Access to the building file archives is subject to § 17 of the Allgemeines Verwaltungsverfahrensgesetz (general law on administrative processes).

The Archives of the City of Linz offers group tours by prior appointment.

How to find us

The Archives of the City of Linz are located in the Neues Rathaus (New Town Hall) of the City of Linz on the northern bank of the Danube, in the Urfahr district.

Parking is available in the underground car park of the Neues Rathaus at short-term parking rates.

You reach us from the Main Station on the nos 1 and 3 tram lines, Neues Rathaus tram stop.

The activities of the Archives of the City of Linz are regulated by the Upper Austrian law on archives and the City of Linz's ordinance on archiving.
