The Landesgalerie is located in the original building of the Museum of the Province of Upper Austria, which was opened in 1895. The prestigious architecture impresses with historical style and its spacious stairway.
In addition to the extensive holdings of works of modern and contemporary art, works by 20th and 21st century artists are shown in an ongoing succession. The Kubin Cabinet offers insights into the world’s largest collection of works by Alfred Kubin. The Landesgalerie presents alternately works of artists of the 20th century with a connection to Upper Austria.
