On the tracks of Anton Bruckner

The composter Anton Bruckner, the writer and painter Adalbert Stifter and the astronomer Johannes Kepler, all lived in the city and gournd fruitful surroundings for their intellectual activities. Their illustrious names are indelibly linked to Linz and the surrounding area and they have left a trail that invites a journey of discovery.

Linz on the Danube is a cosmopolitan city in which cultural traditions and the contemporary coalesce, to generate mutual inspiration.

  • Tour of the city with the theme "Anton Bruckner". An Austria Guide leads you through the Linz of Anton Bruckner with "Präparandie" (teacher's training school), Alter Dom (old cathedral) with Bruckner organ, the Stadtpfarrkirche (city parisch church) and other historical domains of the composer.
  • Lunch in the oldest tavern in Linz. Bruckner's favourite dish can be served upon request!
  • Bus trip to St. Florian (approx. 15 km)
  • Augustinian monastery St. Florian. Tour of the monastery with library, marble salon, imperial room. In the monastery basilica, you can enjoy the "Bruckner organ sound experience".
  • Drive to Ansfelden (approx. 8 km) and a visit to the house where Anton Bruckner was born.
