The Pöstlingberg adventure world

Visible from afar, this 537 m-high hill dominates the Linz cityscape. The famous pilgrimage basilica, the fairytale dwarf kingdom of the "Grottenbahn" grotto railway, romantic garden eateries and the Linz Zoological Garden make the Pöstlingberg an attractive destination for leisure trips and excursions. A splendid panorama view of the provincial capital spread out at the foot of the hill provides a superb encore. One exciting experience is the trip up the hill with Europe's steepest mountain tram. There is also a special historical coach available for groups on request. Please note that the construction work for the revitalization of the Pöstlingberg Railway began on March, 25th 2008. During the period of construction work (until spring 2009) exists an alternative means of transport, the Pöstlingberg-Bus. The bus starts already in the main square. Other special tips for groups are the summer theatre in the Rose Garden, torchlight walks and the Pöstlingberg as an ideal event location for company events and weddings. And why not take the "dragon driving licence" test in the "Grottenbahn"?
