Uniforms, weapons, equipments such as typewriters, calculating machines, office signs, files, laws, seals and stamps were part of a customs officer’s working day in former times. Also the ‚black’ side of the customs collection is shown: confiscated smuggled goods.

The cast-iron sign shows the Austrian national coat of arms:
crowned and armored double eagle with the emblem of the imperial family of Austria-Habsburg-Lothringen, the chain of the Golden Fleece and emblems of Austria’s former crown lands.
