In addition to a multitude of running events, attractive offers of permanent running opportunities also await you.
Even starting right in the center of the city you will find magnificent, traffic-free stretches, where you can enjoy your hobby with like-minded people for kilometers along the Danube. This is also ideal for business travelers: for morning exercise or to relax after a long day of work, you can, in some cases, start directly from the hotel along lighted paths to get your exercise and enjoy yourself in the wellness area of the hotel. In addition, there are the extensive offers for leisure, shopping and cultural activities found in a modern city.

9 Signposted Running and Swimming Routes

Wasserwald, Danube Park, the Promenade along the old horse-drawn railway line ... These are sights to see: in the city and in its immediate vicinity there are a total of nine signposted, precisely measured running and swimming routes. Diversity, nature and exercise are thus guaranteed. The routes are additionally described in a brochure with a map. These are available free of charge from the Tourist Information Linz.

The Marathon World in Linz – Every Kilometer is an Adventure

The next Borealis Linz Danube Marathon takes place on April 22, 2012. Following a varied route, the final kilometers take the runners right through the city center of Linz, where tens of thousands of onlookers enthusiastically cheer them on. This creates an unmistakable atmosphere and a strong motivation all the way to the finish line. Every year the Borealis Linz Danube Marathon is the ideal start for your personal marathon season, whether for 42.195 kilometres, 21.1 or in the 4x10.5 relay race. Introduced in 2004, the 10.9 km quarter marathon is a route that everyone can cover. In addition, there are children's races and the handcycle marathon.
